The Multi Function Reader Printer is an optional accessory unit - installable on all the Systel photofinishing systems - which exploits special new performance enhancements to improve the functions carried out by the Multi Function Printer (MFP), of which it represents the natural evolution.

As was the case also with the MFP, the MFRP receives the envelopes already packed and sealed from the finishing table. It then reads their barcodes (whether they are printed on the front or back) and prints out a self-adhesive label bearing the order price both in regular print and barcode format. The label is then applied automatically onto the envelope.

The barcodes read from the envelope are used by the station controller both for pricing and matching. The laser scanner can be mounted above or below the envelope path; optionally a second laser can be installed to scan both sides ot the envelope. The MFRP is particularly recommended for photo-labs that deal with Eurocombi-type order envelopes or when it is necessary to read the barcodes on all the surface of the envelopes.

All the currently operative MFP can easily be transformed intoMFRP with an up-grade kit. By using this accessory, every photolab can create a complete on-line pricing system.
